Opened in 1931, the Addison Gallery has one of the most important collections of American art in the country that includes more than 17,000 works by prominent American artists such as George Bellows, John Singleton Copley, Thomas Eakins, Winslow Homer, Georgia O’Keeffe, Jackson Pollock, Frank Stella, and Kara Walker. It also includes photographers Eadweard Muybridge, Walker Evans, Robert Frank and many more. The Addison Gallery, located on the campus of Phillips Academy in Andover, offers a continually rotating series of exhibitions and programs, all of which are free and open to the public.

Driving Directions: 

From Boston, take Rt. 93N. Take exit 41, turn right onto Rt. 125, go 2 miles. Turn right onto Rt. 28 North, go about 3 miles to the Phillips Academy campus. Turn right onto Chapel Avenue. The Gallery is the first building on the right. From Rt. 495 North, take exit 41A "Andover" and proceed south on Rt. 28 through the town of Andover. Phillips Academy is approximately one mile south of the center of town. Turn left onto Chapel Avenue. The Gallery is the first building on the right. From Rt. 495 South, take exit 41 “Andover/Lawrence”, go right at end of ramp, and proceed south on Rt. 28 through the town of Andover. Phillips Academy is approximately one mile south of the center of town. Turn left onto Chapel Avenue. The Gallery is the first building on the right.
