The Art of Wooden Boatbuilding Series

Join us for the Art of Wooden Boatbuilding Series! This five part series explores the principles behind the design and construction of traditional wooden boats. Participants will have the opportunity to experience hands-on practices at several traditional boatyards within the Essex National Heritage Area.

Tickets to all five sessions are available for a special package price ($250) or tickets may be purchased for individual sessions ($75). Kick-off lecture on Feb 29 is $15. Discounts to all dates available for members of Essex Heritage, Essex Shipbuilding Museum, Lowell's Boat Shop, or Maritime Gloucester. Workshops are limited to 30 participants.

Saturday, April 25 at 9am: The "Fit-Out" at Maritime Gloucester

Saturday, May 9 at 9am: Rigging a Tall Ship at Salem Maritime Historic Site

Saturday, May 23 at 9am: Building the Dory at Lowell's Boat Shop
