CANCELED: Elbridge Gerry: Beyond the Gerrymander

Date:

July 17, 2019, 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Location:

Marblehead Museum, 170 Washington St., Marblehead, MA, 01945

Due to the Happy Maddison production company using Marblehead as a filming location for an upcoming movie, and the subsequent shutdown of Washington Street on July 17th, we are postponing the lecture until a future date in the fall. Please stay tuned for the new date. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Join us for an evening lecture about Elbridge Gerry, infamous for the concept of Gerrymandering. Notable historian, Robert Allison will discuss Gerry’s life and impact on Massachusetts, our nation, and beyond. Presented by Essex Heritage & Marblehead Museum.

Robert Allison is a Professor of History at Suffolk University in Boston, and also teaches in the Harvard Extension School. He writes about American history. He lives in Boston with his wife and sons.
