DESCRIPTION:On December 6\, 1917\, during the height of WWI\, a massive explosion took place in Halifax Harbor in Nova Scotia\, Canada.\n\n\nOn December 6\, 1917\, during the height of WWI\, two ships trying to navigate Halifax Harbor collided resulting in the largest man-made explosion of the pre-atomic age. \nEssex Heritage President\, David Read\, will recount the events leading up to this devastating tragedy and the impressive Massachusetts rescue effort.
