Little Harbor & Islands Walk

A walking tour around the scenic coves of Marblehead’s Little Harbor and its two rocky off-shore islands. Located at the northeast tip of the mainland peninsula, that sheltered coastal area is where the town’s early settlement began in 1629. It is bounded at the west by Peach’s Point and at the east by Gale’s Head on which Fort Sewall is situated. The tour will highlight the small tidal harbor, its islands, and their stories, starting when Native Americans summered at coastal encampments, and incorporating their subsequent early and later social history.

Sail on the Schooner Fame!

In honor of our partners at Essex Heritage, we are offering a free sail on the Schooner FAME! FAME is a full-scale replica of a famous privateer schooner that sailed from Salem during the War of 1812 and captured 20 ships! We sail up to five times a day between May and October from Pickering Wharf Marina in downtown Salem. Our ticket booth is outside the old Victoria Station restaurant — soon to be the new & improved FINZ! The schooner is available for private events as well as public sails.
