Grow Spring Expo

April 13, 2019, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Topsfield Town Center, Topsfield, MA, 01983

The sixth annual Grow Spring Expo takes place on April 13 from 10 AM to 3 PM next to the Topsfield Common.  The Expo, which drew over 1,000 visitors from across Essex County and beyond last year, celebrates local agriculture, horticulture, and environmental preservation, and connects organizations with each other and the community.   Visitors have the opportunity to meet local farmers, horticulturists, and organic and natural food and product producers.  Attendees can learn about gardening and local food production, purchase fresh produce, cheese, honey, herbs, seeds, and spring plants, and sign up for CSA shares.

The event spans three buildings on Topsfield Common with exhibits at the Emerson Center, The Commons, and Gould Barn, and will also feature food, dessert and coffee vendors.  There will be live music, and children will enjoy farm animals, and a scavenger hunt with prizes.  Antique tractors will be on display, along with floral demonstrations, and an opportunity to participate in Goat Yoga with prior registration (see for sign up information).

Among the 60+ vendors exhibiting are Pigeon Cove Ferments, Appleton Farms, The Monarch Gardener, Valley View Farm, First Light Farm, The HERB FARmacy, Kim’s Pure Pastry, and many more.  There will also be textiles, jewelry, and items for the home, made by local artisans.

Grow Spring is organized by the Topsfield Garden Club, and sponsored by the Topsfield Historical Society, The Commons 1854, and the Congregational Church of Topsfield.   Each year the event has grown in popularity and scope, attracting amateurs and experts alike in the fields of agriculture and horticulture.

There is plenty of free street parking, and admission is free.  More details can be found at, including information on exhibiting.  Exhibitor applications are still being accepted, and the sign up form is on the website.
