Downtown Amesbury is defined by the brick mill buildings that line the Powow River. These historic buildings are home to a variety of businesses, studios and residential spaces. Forty years ago the millyard was in disrepair and many buildings showed the heavy wear of continual use or neglect.
Former Director of Community and Economic Development, Joseph Fahey will present a special lecture describing the process of saving and redeveloping the Amesbury millyard, a project that began in 1979. Fahey led the process of recovery and will share his stories of this successful urban renewal project.
Sponsored by the Amesbury Carriage Museum. The event is free and open to the public. Donations welcome.
