Gage lived in summer 1774 when the Massachusetts government. moved to Salem. Built c. 1754, it was more opulent than his Marblehead home (c. 1728-30 with a 7-room fa\u00e7ade addition c. 1747-50). Called \u201cThe Lindens\u201d after 1860 (when the Peabody family lived there), the house was moved to Washington DC in 1934.
