Marblehead Conservancy, Inc.
An easy-moderate hike on the trails in the Lead Mills and Wyman Woods conservation areas, bordering the head of Salem Harbor. White lead was produced at Lead Mills many years ago. Salem and Marblehead acquired this 4.5-acre remediated site in 2013 as conservation land. The area is being kept as open space and transitioned to a field of native wild flowers. The adjacent 33.5-acre Wyman Woods is largely upland woods. The old B&M railroad bed passes through both properties.
Long pants are strongly recommended.
