Paddle the Ipswich River

The Ipswich River Watershed Association’s headquarters at Riverbend is a great place to paddle and explore the river! This event is a beginner, family friendly paddle on pond-like conditions open to all ages and abilities. Our route will depend on water levels but plan on at least an hour of paddling.

RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. Please RSVP to rsvp@ipswichriver.org or call 978-412-8200. We have a limited number of our own kayaks and canoes for use (please reserve ahead of time). Please let us know if you need a boat or if you prefer to bring your own.

Driving Directions: 

From points south: Rte- 128 North to Exit 20A (Route 1A North towards Hamilton). Continue north on Route 1A for ~7.7 miles. Riverbend will be on your left past Appleton Farms. Turn into the driveway and go straight to the end (there are two houses on the driveway; we are the second house). From points north: I-95 to Exit 54 (Rte- 133 East towards Rowley). Continue on Rte- 133 through downtown Ipswich. Just past downtown Ipswich, continue straight on Rte-1A South. Riverbend will be on your right just past Masconomet Road. Turn into the driveway and go straight to the end (there are two houses on the driveway; we are the second house).
