This single tour departs the beach at 9 sharp
Our "sensory hike" mirrors the growing movement of what is known as "Forest Bathing", which is essentially taking the time to use your senses to mindfully soak in the nature around you as you explore. And as this is Amesbury’s 350th anniversary as well, along the way we'll also talk about the first inhabitants, the early settlers, and the rich history of our town as we hike. At 9 AM, we’ll begin our hike. Start by exploring the lakeside paths that meander along the side of Powow Hill, or Po Hill as it is known locally. This easy, guided hike starts at the beach, goes through the beautiful mixed forest to the scenic summit of Po Hill, pausing often to notice the sights, smells, sounds and textures around us. We'll continue down the largely coniferous northern side of the hill and make our way to the rolling fields of Battis Farm on the northern edge of Amesbury. There will be a single tour.
Comfortable walking shoes, light clothing bug repellant and drinking water are recommended. Guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable item to support Our Neighbor’s Table.
