In honor of our partners at Essex Heritage, we are offering a free sail on the Schooner FAME! FAME is a full-scale replica of a famous privateer schooner that sailed from Salem during the War of 1812 and captured 20 ships! We sail up to five times a day between May and October from Pickering Wharf Marina in downtown Salem. Our ticket booth is outside the old Victoria Station restaurant — soon to be the new & improved FINZ! The schooner is available for private events as well as public sails. We also offer "Schooner Camp" — a day camp program for kids ages 8-14 — twice each summer. Thanks to the generosity of the Marine Society at Salem, we are able to offer deep discounts to Salem children. FAME was built in Essex by National Heritage Fellow Harold Burnham in 2003. She is a locally-owned, well-reviewed business that works with the Park Service, Essex Heritage, and the Salem Public Schools to increase appreciation of Salem's maritime history and traditions.
NO RESERVATIONS * NO EXCEPTIONS * This is a first-come, first-served event. We will hand out tickets to the first 32 people in line at 11:15 AM on Sunday. Your entire group must be present at 11:15 as we will only hand out one ticket per person. There are no exceptions to this policy.
