        • Bringing awareness and appreciation for heritage resources around the county.

        • Border To Boston

        • A 70-mile shared-use trail that links together approximately 20 communities.

        • Heritage At Home

        • Heritage at Home was developed out of the COVID-19 crisis.

        • Regional Visitor Centers

        • We have partnerships with 13 welcome/visitor centers all over the county.

        • Bakers Island Light Station

        • Operating and maintaining the 10-acre historic Bakers Island Light Station.

        • Essex Coastal Scenic Byway

        • The 90-mile roadway links 14 coastal communities.

        • Essex County Black Experience

        • Exploring the history of Black activism in Essex County.

  • Programs

        • Programs

          Essex Heritage offers a wide variety of programs for all ages to engage residents and visitors with the cultural resources of the heritage area.

        • Education Programs

        • Education programs offer opportunities for teachers and students to explore the rich, diverse history of the region.

        • Future Leaders

        • A summer youth employment and training program with a unique partnership with the National Park Service.

        • Partnership Grants

        • The program comprises four categories: Education, Preservation, Interpretation, and Inclusion.

        • Public Programs

        • Essex Heritage provides a variety of public programs to highlight the unique assets of Essex County, MA.

        • Photo Contest

        • Each year, photographers of all levels submit stunning images of the Essex Heritage Area.

        • Tours

        • Learn about our walking tours, films and more at the Regional Visitor Center.

        • Revolution 250

        • Essex County Revolution 250 is an initiative of Essex Heritage in partnership with Massachusetts Rev250 and dozens of regional museums, heritage sites, and organizations.
